When you are new to weight training for women, you will have to get used to how sore your muscles get. It’s really crazy because that soreness is a feeling that actually feels good and it’s very empowering. But there are ways that you can minimize the soreness and you are going to learn some of them here.
To begin, you need to make sure your form is great when you are doing through your workout plans. By having good form, you will minimize the use of muscles that you shouldn’t be working… that can really cause massive soreness. Having really good habits with your form is the first place to start.
The next thing that will help you cut down on your soreness is stretching after your exercises to lose weight. This will help you get the blood flowing to the muscles which will help battle the soreness. Good stretching will cover your whole body, but it should only last you about 5 minutes so don’t over do it.
The next one, you might have to get your spouse in on the action… and have them give you a massage. When you get a massage, you increase the amount of blood to those areas while at the same time decreasing inflamation in your muscles. And that is why getting a massage is really good for your muscles, not to mention is feels great too. And by getting your spouse involved, maybe they might start working out with you so they can get a massage.
Fourth, you need to ensure you are not working out back to back to back. It’s up to you to ensure that you are resting at least 48 hours between workouts… as long as you are doing full body workouts. Forty eight hours will mean that you have the entire day of your workout to rest and at least the entire next day to rest as well. Usually, I suggest to my clients that on the off days of resistance training, you do some interval training, but if you are new then that really won’t be a safe option yet.
These are some really good methods to reduce muscle soreness quickly. Using these on a consistent basis will ensure that you get better and faster results from all of your hard training work. Remember to keep pushing yourself though because that is what keep the results coming.
